Taking a Measurement for a Cowichan Sweater:
(referring to the sweater picture)
Please follow instructions below as a guide to measuring for a
fitted cowichan sweater.
A)
Chest
-
( Standing Straight )
measure from just below your arm pit. Measure the entire
circumference of your chest in INCHES * This measurement will be
very form fitting across the chest and arms
B)
Length-
Standing Straight, (measuring form the back) take the
measurement in INCHES from the center of the back of your neck
and measure down to where you want the edge of the sweater to be
around your hips.
C)
Arm-
(Standing straight Extend you arm straight out ( as shown in
picture). From the center of the back your neck measure down
your arm to the edge of the wrist bone , where you want the end
of cuff of the sweater to end .
D)
Shoulder -
Measure across back width from tops of sleeve across back
Before ordering, it is advisable to think if multiple layers of
clothing are going to be worn underneath the sweater and if the
the sweater is to have a loose fit like a coat. We advise that
at least 4 sizes from the chest measurement be added for
comfort.
*****************
EXAMPLE: A CHEST SIZE OF 44 WILL FIT A SIZE 52 SWEATER.
YOU
WILL BE ABLE TO LIFT ARMS WITHOUT IT RIDING UP UNCOMFORTABLY
